Mentfield’s comprehensive range of insurance products covers all forms of road, sea and air freight and gives you an additional layer of protection knowing the value of your goods is safeguarded in the unlikely event an incident occurs.
Our insurance services cover commercial consignments as well as personal property and are offered by a third-party certified specialist who have close to three decades experience in logistics insurance.
Insurance - Our Services
We do not provide off-the-shelf insurance products. Each premium is calculated based on your individual criteria and covers your cargo or personal items against loss or damage. We offer single policies and annual cover for:
- High-value items
- High-risk cargo (such as personal car importing)
- Perishable and temperature-controlled cargo
- Pharmaceutical products
- FCL and LCL shipments
- Animal imports
- Cargo subject to specific conditions, limitations or restrictions
As well as insurance cover, we offer consultancy services to importers and exporters including professional advice covering danger and risk during transit resulting from fire, inclement weather and foul play.
Marine Insurance
On very rare occasions and outside of the reasonable control of all parties, goods can go missing or arrive damaged at the destination port, warehouse or end user.
If the carrier assumes responsibility, their liability can be limited to the weight of your shipment as opposed to its commercial value which can result in substantial losses both financially and materially. Our insurance covers goods in the event of a claim on full terms (ICCA) including all risk covering loss or damage, door-to-door cover including storage, missed delivery deadlines and loss or damage during loading, unloading and reloading.
